OBJECTIVES
The primary objectives of this year's Order of Kilimanjaro Events are to:
- Celebrate and acclaim the accomplishments of poet, writer, philosopher and professor Maya Angelou's life-long crusade to awaken Africans and the world to a positive sense of direction;
- Establish a children's community center to provide a value structure at a critical time in children's lives;
- Promote AOU's primary purpose: to bring together in unity people of African descent from both the continent and in the worldwide diaspora and celebrate our collective consciousness; and
- Begin a dialogue on the basic principles of the Nguzu Saba, the necessity of economic power, and develop strategies on how we can positively network to impact our collective business communities.
